March: Springing into Soccer

The AYSO 1336 registration process has concluded in Rogersville with a parent meeting scheduled for Friday, February 27th, 2008 at Hawkins Elementary School.

Coaches need to arrive at 6pm to meet with the Coach Administrator, collect their folders and learn more about changes in AYSO policy.

Parents should arrive at 7pm.  It is very important that all parents try to attend since  your child will meet his or her coach and schedule their first practice for the Spring session at this meeting.

Games for travel teams should begin on March 21st and for regional teams on Sunday March 22nd.  Our photo date has been schedule for March 28th, 2008, and those photos will be taken by Captured Photography.

Times and location will be posted soon, so be sure to check back for that information.

Also, a huge thanks to our new Regional Registrar Arlene Gray, who didn’t  waste any time getting things organized and to our Regional Commissioner  Mike Herrell and Referee Administrator Chuck Ward for getting the fields prepped over this past weekend.

There will be a $30 registration + $20 uniform fee.  Ask about our sibling discount. 

Please bring your child’s birth certificate.  You will also need to know your child’s weight, height, uniform size and name of physician.

Volunteers are also needed and applications will be available.

Reminders:

Please do not leave trash on the field. Our volunteers have been working overtime picking up litter each weekend. Help us out by tossing your trash in one of the barrels located on the field.

Also, AYSO Photo Buttons are on sale for $5. If you did not receive a player photo button with your package, these can be purchased on the field during game days.

4th Annual Night Games

November 15^th, 2008

We will be hosting an awards ceremony and the last game of the fall season – GLOWBALL. The event will be held on the Senior League baseball field (located above the AYSO soccer fields) and event volunteers are still needed. If you are interested in a volunteer shift, please see Regional Commissioner Mike Herrell, CVPA Danielle Luckadoo or leave a message with our communications director at 754-5404.

5-6:00 pm – Early Bird Registration, Register early and save $5!!!!

Price of spring renewal will be $32 (-$5 discount = $28!) No applications for financial assistance will be accepted during Early Bird Registration and only one discount will apply. This registration is available to existing players only and will end promptly at 6pm! Our volunteers have other tasks assigned to them and must close the booth on time. Please come early to avoid lines.

5-6:00pm – AYSO Snack Shack open Players wear your AYSO jersey and get a free hotdog! (While supplies last) .

6:30pm – Awards Ceremony

7:15pm – Glowball

Also Don’t Forget to Sign-up for AYSO PLAYERS ON PARADE:

If you are interested in riding on the AYSO float in the Rogersville Christmas parade, please sign up with Coordinator Arlene Gray at night games or drop an email to ayso1336[at]charter[dot]net. The parade will be held on December 6^th, 2008. Seating is limited. If you’d like to help decorate the float or the AYSO entry in Christmas Trees on Parade, be sure to leave your name and number.

Sunday Oct 12. Games Canceled

The regional games for Sunday Oct. 12 have been postponed due to high number of players planning to attend UT AYSO Day.  These games have been rescheduled for U5 and U6 Divisions to Nov. 8th.  The Coach Administrator will contact U8 coaches with their make-up date.

Directions to the Regal Soccer Stadium are here. For all parents, who wish to attend the event with other Rogersville players, the “Hawkins County Convoy” will be meeting at the Burger Bar in Rogersville at 12pm.
